Njord is a member of the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park.
This is a foundation who’s purpose is to co-ordinate the total actions and activities in relation to the world heritage status of the Nærøyfjord area. The statutes of the foundation can be read on their website.
The park plan is a long-term strategy and action plan which is to function as an administrative document for the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park.
The plan consists of two parts, where one part deals with what the World Heritage Park should do, how it can be done and why. The second part of the plan consists of an elaboration of the basis for the World Heritage Park and the world heritage status of the Nærøyfjord area.
The first version of the Park plan has been adopted by the board of directors of the World Heritage Park. The plan is to be revised after a two-year period and then incorporated into the municipal planning system.
