The Old Kings Path (4 hrs)

Aurlandsfjord

Kayaking to the Old Kings Path

This is a seakayak tour and short hike combined, the ideal way to experience the Fjords of Norway. We paddle to Fronneset, a place of historical importance with grave mounds from the viking era, and follow a winding path along a wild river, passing amazing waterfalls and bubbling lagoons. For customer reviews please see our Facebook site or our posting on Trip advisor.

We will have a break on land with a hike and a possibility to go swimming in the lagoon, so bring a swimsuit and a towel. Lunch is not provided so bring a small snack and something to drink. Bring sensible walking shoes for the hike.

We will spend 20-30 minutes before the trip for outfitting and safety and kayaking instructions. Kayak, paddle, sprayskirt, jacket, pump and paddlefloat is included. It is about 1 hour paddeling out to Fronnes and we spend about 1,5 hours on land. The hike is approximately 20 minutes and is not difficult.

This trips suits everone, no kayaking experience needed. It is perfect for families as the kids get to move around freely in the nature for a bit.
If you wish to check the weatherforecast for Flåm it is our experience that the site www.storm.no shows the most accurate forecast. Flåm and Aurland are amongst the driest places in Fjord Norway.

Daily departures at 10.00 and 15.00 from 1st May til 31st August (in September we will not offer the Old Kings Path tour, only Fjord Paddle at 10.00 and 12.00, this due to grazing sheep on the Fronnes peninsula).
